A two-surface field-force platform that proves attendance with selfie and GPS verification while giving the office live, trustworthy visibility into where staff are and which customers they visit.
The challenge
A manufacturer with field staff spread across regions had no reliable way to confirm employees were actually at work and in the field, rather than spoofing their presence. Leadership lacked live visibility into staff location and a defensible record of the dealer, retailer, and farmer visits being made each day, alongside a compliance need for a long-retention audit trail.
Our approach
We owned the system end to end across two surfaces and a shared backend: an Android app for the field and a web dashboard for the office, on one services and database layer. We anchored the design in the non-negotiable field realities first (anti-spoofing verification, continuous tracking, offline survival, and an immutable audit trail) and enforced access, region scoping, and data integrity server-side so what the office sees can be trusted.
What we built
- An Android field app with selfie and GPS check-in/out, continuous background location tracking with offline tolerance, degraded battery-saver cadences, and automatic emergency-checkout so no tracked time or distance is lost
- A web admin dashboard with region-scoped real-time live tracking on a multi-map grid, attendance and visit review, master-data management, analytics, and data exports
- A shared, layered backend with custom authentication, server-side region and eligibility enforcement, soft-delete/archive lifecycle, and a long-retention compliance audit trail
Outcome
Delivered a production field-force accountability platform that verifies attendance against spoofing, keeps a continuous location trail through offline periods and app restarts without losing records, gives admins a live region-scoped view of their team, and preserves a complete, audit-ready history of attendance and customer visits.
